Norwegian Wood film opens in UK cinemas soon

The film version of Haruki Murakami's best-selling novel, Norwegian Wood (ノルウェイの森) was first shown at the Venice Film Festival in September last year where it was nominated for the Golden Lion award. It then opened in Japan in December and has already opened in several other countries in Asia, Europe and elsewhere. However, it will finally officially open in the UK on March 11th, 2011.

You've probably already seen the trailer, but if you haven't yet, here is the official English-subtitled trailer. Thanks to Shellie at Layers of Thought for the link.

  8. I watched it and I am not that wondered, I love the book much more. I guess it is a film made just to who read the book because no one else would understand what it is about, it's to confusing and the story happens too quickly. Still, the sceneries are perfect. I think Rinko Kikuchi is the best actress there playing her role the other characters aren't exactly as I pictured the, but I can't blame no one for this (:

  10. I was lucky to find about the movie coming to Dubai International Film Festival via Facebook. Hm, maybe I should reactivate my account! :) Anyway, I took my NORWEGIAN WOOD copy with me and have it signed by Tran Anh Hung. I hope to be that lucky in this life time to have one of Murakami's books signed by himself! Oh, as for the movie... I'm preparing a post about it, I'll keep you posted!
